My Niece Marnie

MARNIE HEUSTIS

Marnie is my niece.   On October 7th, 2011 she underwent surgery for colon cancer.  Unfortunatly the cancer had already spread to her liver and is of a very aggressive variety.  She is still in the hospital and it is unknown at this time if she will be able to come home.  Her condition is terminal.  The doctors can not guesstimate a timeline but all options for treatment so far have proven ineffectual.   My brother Lee (her Dad) has been with her there (in Fargo ND) since the surgery as have her mother Sharon, her sister's Karma and Jennifer, and her three sons; Carsyn (11), Dylan (16) and Bryce (18).  Marnie is 39 years old.  

Her community has been awesome.  In late September her friends organized a spaghetti dinner benefit for her and her children to help raise money to help her financially and to help provide for her family in the coming months.  It was very successful and well attended.  The support of the community has warmed the heart of this family.  Thank you all so much for your caring.
